Swiss Rockers D’Or and local band Regional One to play Bournemouth shows

Swiss hard rockers D’Or and award-winning local band Regional One will be gigging together this October in the latest leg of the Bournemouth-Lucerne Twinning Association’s band exchange project.

Lucerne-based D’Or will be jetting over to play two Bournemouth gigs:
• Friday 3rd October, 2025 – The Four Horsemen.
• Saturday 4th October, 2025 – Sixty Million Postcards.

Bournemouth band Regional One will play its first ever all-acoustic set on the Friday night but an electrified set on the Saturday night. Kick-off is 7pm each night and entry is free.

The two gigs will form the third leg in an ongoing band exchange project organised on behalf of the Bournemouth-Lucerne Twinning Association and its Swiss counterpart.

The history: The first leg of the band exchange saw the Swiss outfit Parkhouse rock Bournemouth back in 2023 (supported by local bands The Other Chaps, A-OK and The Point of No Return), while the second leg, in 2024, saw The Other Chaps and The Point of No Return bands fly the flag for Bournemouth by travelling out to perform two shows in Lucerne – one of which took place in a former prison! All the members of those various bands have formed lasting friendships and are still in regular touch with each other, demonstrating the potential power of the twinning project.

The band exchange is supported by the IEA (the International Education Association of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, which represents the 3 local universities and a selection of other international education providers), RALSA (the Regional Accredited Language Schools Association), David and Lynn Coleman of DAL Productions, International Contacts (a specialist languages / study travel agency) and Barnstormer Studios (a creative agency).

Bournemouth-Lucerne Twinning Association spokesperson David Bailey said: “It’s wonderful to see that the band exchange project is going from strength to strength and that through these activities we can develop friendships and build cultural and business bridges between our two towns. We are really excited to be welcoming Lucerne’s band D’Or to Bournemouth to fly the flag for Switzerland and play their first ever show in the UK. Brace yourselves: it’s going to be loud!”

Event organiser David Jones of Barnstormer Studios said: “We are delighted that the Swiss band D’Or is following in the footsteps of Parkhouse who brought their hard-rocking exuberance to Bournemouth back in 2023 and with whom our Bournemouth bands have struck up some lovely friendships. In these times of division, it’s heartening to find a way to actually bring people together across international borders in a really positive manner. Music breaks down barriers better than almost anything else!”
